GERALD FORD AND JOHN KERRY - WHAT A CONTRAST

May your fairways be peaceful and you scores be under par. Goodbye to a great American President Gerald R. Ford. Rest in peace and hit 'em long and straight !

Notice that John Kerry is eating alone ? Now this would seem trivial if it were not for the fact that this picture was taken on his recent visit to Iraq and he is eating in a soldiers mess hall. Talk about being avoided like the plague. He also visited a gym and no one even went to shake his hand. While at the same time Bill O' Reilly was in the same area and troops were lined up for blocks to shake his hand and get his autograph. The epitaph for Kerry - What happens when a Massachusetts liberal opens his mouth to often ? He becomes a Senator and fades into oblivion. Goodbye John Kerry glad to see you go. Oh he will still show his face and try to run in 08 but his political future has ended. Good riddance!

The contrast is obvious. President Ford - grace, honesty, integrity under great pressure while putting the good of the country above all else including his political career. John Kerry - no grace, no integrity and his only honesty is that he honestly thinks he can be President. He is about the only one left. Always putting the good of John Kerry above the good of the country. The difference between a great American, (Gerald Ford), and a blame America firster (John Kerry).

Surely a rightwinger can praise someone without having to put someone down at the same time?

Also, there are rumors circulating, even on rightwing sites, that this picture is fake.

Fake?

What did someone erase the Troops OUT of the picture? LMAO!

Face it Kerry's a Bozo.

Actually, the post was a more than valid comparison between a superior conservative product and an inferior liberal one. Only a really "out there" moonbat, Osama bin Laden or someone on intense meds could possibly want to see Kerry elected president.

The "rumors" concerned skepticism re the date and time the photo was taken, and are dispelled in technical detail over at Powerline Blog. There is also an eyewitness account there from an American serviceman. It's funny that Bill O'Reilly was there and while Kerry was ignored, soldiers lined up with a two hour wait to shake O'Reilly's hand.

Such things truly speak volumes that no liberal bumper sticker rhetoric can credibly deny.

We now know that that picture was taken well before the "gaffe" and that according to those present at the time, it was the first moment Kerry had had to himself all day, and even then he wasn't entierly alone, and is clearly listening to someone, and the whole table is not shown.

This picture is being used in a misleading context, and that is dishonest, and I expect better than that here.

*****

And speaking of misleading...why are you guys squawking that Harry Reid won't be at Ford's funerals, when Bush won't be at any of the funerals either? And why weren't you squawking when Bushie didn't attend the beloved Reagan's funeral.

Can you say Double Standards?

MudKitty,

Are you on medication? If not you should be, I watched Bush AND his Father BOTH speak at Reagan's Funeral!

Hell I taped it! And I was thinking about President Reagan the other day when I heard about Ford and I WATCHED IT!

Who told you President Bush wasnt going to be at Ford's funeral? He has to be, oh have mercy, no wonder everyone argues with you. You really need to get your fact's straight!

Mudkitty you are sadly mistaken. Bush not only attended Reagan's funeral at the National Cathedral but spoke at it during the service. Both Bush 43 and Bush 41 spoke at Reagan's funeral as a matter of fact. He is doing the same at Ford's funeral on Tuesday at the same location. Ford because of his health problems was the only President not in attendance at Reagan's funeral and I am sure that Tuesday will find all four living President's in attendance again with Bush 43 speaking. By the way to add to Marie's comment that she watched the tape I was in the crowd outside the National Cathedral for Reagan's funeral and saw all the Presiden't except Ford, (for reasons that I stated above), including Bush 43 enter the Cathedral then saw the tape that I time recorded at home when I returned and listened to the President's speech. It is customary for the sitting President to always deliver a tribute at the funeral of a President and Ford will not be an exception with Bush 43.

The flack about Reid is justified because as a Senate leader it is considered part of protocol for him to cancel all appointments regardless of what they may be to attend a state funeral and not just make a telephone call leaving a message of condolance. This shows a total lack of class and respect on the part of Reid, Biden and the other two Dems who are going to South America.

Come on, are you saying W attended Reagan's funeral? Are you committing to that?

The White House said that Bush will be "unable to attend" any of the ceremonies...check out the White House Schedule for yourself.

Bush will return from Crawford and "privatly pay his respects."

"Part of it will be missing President Bush, too. The president will not attend Ford's state funeral in the Rotunda on Saturday night, but will return to Washington from his Texas ranch on Monday, pay respects to Ford while his remains lie in state at the Capitol, and speak Tuesday at services for Ford at the National Cathedral."

The above from the AP Mudkitty notice who is speaking at Tuesday's funeral service. Oh and by the way this is also the same way that Bush paid respects for Reagan. He did not attand the Rotunda service then either because that is lead by the VP and members of Congress not the President. This is normal protocal for a state funeral and the participation of a siiting President. He is not a member of Congress as the VP is thus does not participate in the rotunda service. The state funeral consists of several services culminating at the National Cathedral where the President presides over the service.

"Delivering eulogies were Thatcher, Mulroney, and both Bushes"

Above quoted from From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia account of the events and speakers at all Reagan funeral functions. Again protocol for state funeral has the sitting President as the presiding officer at the National Cathedral during a state funeral.

Ken: Don't you get tired of providing a free educational service for moonbats? You would think that after so many previous comments where mudslinger has been shown to be in factual error and grossly misinformed that he/she/it would bother to check the facts and not simply recite whatever mindless drivel he/she/it is being fed at the moonbat palace for lefties.

I recall the protocol from the Regan funeral. But even still, I would have gone back and checked before making such obviously flawed remarks.

Anyway, let's not feed the kitty too much. He/she/it will get fat with the attention which is certainly undeserved.

As to Harry Reid not being there. Frankly, I'm not bothered by it. And I am SOOO GLAD that Ford's passing was at a time when Republicans controlled both House of Congress, the Executive Branch and much of the Judiciary. I can't imagine what snarky remarks Madame Speaker DuFarge would make... Or maybe I can imagine. Something like "Well, Ford was a good man, but his party was BAD and still is."

At least we were not subjected to the spectacle and insult of Democrats dancing on Ford's grave.

After they take control. Let's hope they have the opportunity to bury the "Peanut President" in their own way. AND SOON!Maybe they can throw a condom fest remembrance for AIDS awareness in lieu of a funeral.

Bush planned on coming back to DC on Tuesday anyway. Seriously folks, you don't know this stuff?

The National Cathedral thing wasn't planned when you guys jumped the gun about the services.

*****

Mike says..."Let's hope they have the opportunity to bury the "Peanut President" in their own way. AND SOON!" Caps and exclamation point his.

Dancing on anyones grave is not something that democrats behave in, but Mike's already dancing on Carter's grave.

Says it all.

As for rewriting history, that's the job of republicans... "oh it was a good thing to pardon Nixon and not hold him, or anyone else accountable for what Ford himself characterized as "any crimes he committed against this nation, or any crimes he may have commited against this nation."

Republicans have the lock on revisionist history.

You just cannot help yourself can you mudslinger.

Caught in another of web of factual inaccuracy brought on by your willifully misinformed outlook and you start spinning faster than Saddam swung at the end of a rope.

Bush was always going to be part of the service at the APPROPRIATE TIME according to protocol. Grow a brain and look these things up. You're embarrassing yourself.

And frankly my dear, you won't find me making snipping comments his funeral when the "Peanut President" does turn room temperature. Until then, we're free to treat him with the same respect he's treated his successors in office.

And if you don't think that Nixon or anyone else was held accountable for Watergate, I'd like to introduce you to Chuck Colson. I met him at his Prison Fellowship ministry headquarters a few years ago. He started that after being released from prison for Watergate crimes. Would you like to know how many others also served time? Sorry, not going to be your personal tutor moonbat. Go look it up yourself and perhaps you will better appreciate the effort required to maintain the intellectual integrity that one obtains from factual accuracy.

The mud was slung against Harry Reid before the plans were in place, and before the pressure was brought to bear on Bush to commit to a eulogy...if you knew, or did your homework, you would know that M.

And to only respect someone once they're dead...speaks for itself.

And no, Nixon was not held accountable for his crimes against the nation. He just had to give up his gig. Abrams, and North got off on techincalities, and Colson has made a cottage industry out of his prison time.

You are factually inaccuract if you deny any of this. Deluded, in fact. Colson is no hero. Piety and Patriotism are a scoundral's last refuge. No I'm not impressed by what happened to the Nixon boys. Seems they hand picked Bushie, even against his own father's wishes.

Hip yourself.

Mudkitty following is a site that has the details of the State funeral for a President along with a picture showing the flag draped coffin of President Reagan with President Bush in the backgroud delivering the eulogy. The sitting President does not nor ever has attended the service in the rotunda as referenced in the funerals of Kennedy, LBJ, Truman, Reagan and now Ford. Those you may look up for yourself. The sitting President presides over the national service which is usually held in the National Cathedral in Washington. It is then that the sitting President delivers a eulogy for the late President.

Here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_funeral

Blogger The Liberal Lie The Conservative Truth said...

One additional fact Mudkitty, the funeral arrangements for any President are begun shortly after he takes office and are fine tuned for several years if the President lives that long. It is protocal for the sitting President who ever that is or may be to deliver the eulogy and that is placed in the planning when the dead President's plans are made while he is still in office. So get off Bushes back over this because your contention that he is fluffing off Ford for his vacation is historically and factually wrong. If he had been in Washington he would have followed exactely the same protocol that he has followed now and as he did with Reagan in which he WAS in Washington during the entire several days of his state funeral and paid his respects at the rotunda the day before the service at the National Cathedral and delivered the eulogy just as he did today and is doing tomorrow for Ford.

Of course funeral arrangements are plotted in advance. That's the point.

The National Cathedral Funeral, for example, was invitation only. I suppose that too is the Democrats fault?
