BARACK OBAMA STILL AGAINST IRAQ SURGE

Depending on the day, any number of positions on Iraq can be found that have come either directly from Barack Obama or from senior members of his campaign staff.

But as the video above shows his position about the surge and his continual claim that it has not worked has not changed, even after visiting Iraq and seeing with his own eyes the success and major decrease in violence that has taken place BECAUSE of the surge.

Before his photo op trip to Afghanistan, Iraq and now Europe Obama had a preconcieved plan and idea concerning Iraq and nothing he saw nor anything that he was told by Patraeus and other commanders on the ground was going to chnage his plan or his preconcieved ideas about Iraq and what he sees as failure.

Even liberal ABC news in the above news report before the Obama interview admits that the surge has worked and Iraq is on the right track, yet Obama in an unscripted moment stumbles on his own words and does his usual two step to avoid a direct answer. But BEFORE avoiding the question notice that he did slip up and admit that even with the success he does not and will not support the surge.

A Commander In Chief works with his commanders in the field to make the tough decisions necessary in military operations. He also recognizes success on the battlefield and moves in accordance to that success.

Obama has shown by his complete disregard of the success of the surge and utterly ignoring the briefings about that success from the commanders in the field, he not only does NOT have what it takes to be Commander In Chief but if given the opportunity to be CIC he would place his personal political agenda above the advise of his commanders and the safety of the troops and this Nation.

We don't know what would have happened Ken. The Sunni Awakening happened months before the Surge and the Anbar province was already in the process of calming down. In fact, we did not Surge troops into Anbar - WE LEFT ANBAR PROVINCE TO ITSELF.

The British left Basra and it quieted down on its own. The Iraqis were forced to solve their own problems.

We have no idea what would have happened without the Surge in Baghdad.

But here is the larger point. The Iraqis want us out and have embraced Obama's timetable. Bush has come around and it is only McCain that says we cannot leave. He'll come around to Obama's position also.

First the left was against the Surge, but they also called for more Troops all along.

So Bush sends more Troops "The Surge" and now the left think's it was the Sunni Awakening, not the Troops who are responsible for the stability on the ground in Iraq.

No matter what, the left spins this thing faster than a Washing Machine.

Of course the situation on the ground improved and stability is at hand thank's to our Troops.

I never even heard the word's "Sunni Awakening" until the left started using it.

If it wasnt for the Troops, the stability on the ground, and the Iraqi's starting to get their political act together, Obama would be visiting a much different Iraq!

What a slap in the face to our Troops!

OK Marie, how do you explain Anbar - where we removed our troops - and Basra - where the British removed their troops?

The Iraqis solved their own problems because they were forced to.

Please explain to me how they were able to pacify themselves.

Rob, Your history is so partisanly skewed. It took the press forever to even recognize the Anbar Awakening when Bill Roggio and Michael Yon and Steve Schippert had been talking about what our military was doing in conjunction with Sunni tribes and former insurgents who were allying with our side (yes, before the Surge- but working, nevertheless, with the aid of our military). Because of them, I knew about the Awakening months in advance of the media. And it didn't happen simply because "Iraqis solved their own problems because they were forced to". That's an insult to our military and bad history.

This vid's for you.
