MICHAEL STEELE NEW RNC CHAIRMAN

Former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele has been elected Chairman of the RNC. An excellent choice who will be a strong leader for the GOP.

Steele is a staunch conservative who believes that the GOP must return to true conservatism and put forth a strong conservative slate of candidates to replace RINOS and Democrats in 2010.

I have had the opportunity to meet and interview Michael and found him to be a good man who understands conservatism and how conservative values and ideas have the right answers to solve todays issues.

He has a great sense of humor and a personality that makes him very likable. But he also has the strength of character to make the tough decisions necessary to get the GOP on track and strong as a party and conservative ideology once again.

Don't look for the media to drool over him as they have Obama. Though a black man Steele is not their type of black. The left and media response will be similar to that given to Condi Rice and Clarence Thomas. The right man for the job at a time when conservative strength and character are needed to invigorate the GOP.

Ahmadinejad Reacts to Obama's Appeasement -

Barack Obama has continually spoken of one on one talks with Iran. Iran has not changed its stance with The United States nor has any intention of accepting Israel.

In fact since Obama's appeasing talk toward Iran Ahmadinejad has insisted that the US apoligize to Iran, completely withdraw from Iraq and turn our back on Israel.

Yet even with these outrageous demands by Iran as condidtions for talking with Obama, conditions the US should ignore, Obama has asked the State Department to draft a letter from him to Iran to set the stage for talking directly with Iran at the Presidential level.

This is not only a dangerous avenue on Obama's part but with the revelation that Iran will have enough enriched uranium to make a nuclear war head before this year is out and not the five years originally thought, the danger to the US , Israel, Europe and the Middle East is far more than originaly thought.

Talk has not slowed Iran's goal of becoming nuclear and Obama talking to Iran as he is trying to do does nothing more than buy them the time to finish the job and threaten the region and the world. Barack Obama the Neville Chamberlain of our time.

With the stroke of the same pen, Obama gives new life to terrorist scum by ordering the closing of Gitmo and takes life from innocent unborn babies. Real change that gives NO hope !

YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - Mississippi might seem like an unlikely place to honor Ulysses S. Grant. After all, the Union general’s military victory at Vicksburg helped turn the tide of the Civil War against the state and the rest of Dixie. But after a legal dispute with an Illinois school, Mississippi State University has become the new home of 90 file cabinets stuffed with hundreds of thousands of pages of documents and memorabilia about Grant.

The collection — one of the biggest involving Grant — had been a source of pride for Southern Illinois University until a falling out between the school and the group that owns the items, prompted by sexual harassment claims against the man who oversaw the collection. Mississippi State considers the stash a big deal when it comes to bragging rights. Presidential libraries didn’t begin springing up until the mid-20th century, leaving universities home to the papers of earlier presidents, including those of the Republican, hard-drinking Grant, who was president from 1869 to 1877.

The last time Grant was in the South, Lee surrendered. Talk about your interesting turn of events ! - YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up

YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - MEXICO CITY — Mexico has long been known for tacos and tequila — but cheesecake? Chef Miguel Angel Quezada says 55 cooks spent 60 hours making the world’s biggest cheesecake — a 2-ton calorie bomb topped with strawberries. The monster cake used nearly a ton of cream cheese, the same amount of yogurt, 350 kilograms (772 pounds) of pastry, 250 kilograms (551 pounds) of sugar and 150 kilograms (331 pounds) of butter.

Carlos Martinez of Guinness World Records declared the cheesecake the world’s largest on Sunday at an event sponsored by Kraft Foods, maker of Philadelphia cream cheese. There wasn’t much competition. Guinness had no previous record for cheesecakes. Organizers gave out 20,000 slices around Mexico City.

YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - NORTH WEBSTER, Ind. — There wasn't any porridge to be too hot or too cold, and the homeowners weren't three bears, but a burglar emulating Goldilocks enjoyed other food and found the chairs and beds to be just right. The intruder even drank beer left in some of the vacation homes targeted around Webster Lake and tried on clothing. "I've been on 19 years and I've never seen anybody actually moving in and living in somebody's residence like that," said Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.

Alex Kupczynski was being held today on four preliminary charges of burglary. Bail was set at $100,000. Police said the 31-year-old Syracuse resident picked vacation homes where the lack of tracks in the snow showed that no one had visited recently. Investigators said their break came when the owner of a vacation home on the lake about 30 miles northwest of Fort Wayne found Kupczynski's wallet inside the pocket of a set of the home owner's overalls.

BARACK OBAMA'S ANTI - STIMULUS, STIMULUS

The much argued and Obama touted, "stimulus," package is making its way on Capital Hill with more garbage than real stimulus.

The graph to the right shows how the money will be spent and when. Notice that this, "much needed," stimulus money will be spent late next year and beyond which of course does nothing for the economy immediately as Obama and his Congressional buddies are trying to scam the American public into believing.

Of the 20% that is supposedly being spent this year following is a list of where and what the money will be spent on.

$650 million for digital TV coupons.
$600 million for new cars for the federal government.
$6 billion for colleges/universities – many of which have billion dollar endowments.
$50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
$44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.
$200 million for the National Mall, including $21 million for sod. ( most to repair damage from the Inauguration )
$22 million for renovating the State Department

Additionally there is immediate funding included for contraceptives and funding for groups like ACORN. This so called ,"infrastructure bill," only dedicates 30 billion dollars or about three percent to infrastructure projects. Only 2.7 percent is going toward small business relief and this in the form of tax credits if employees are added and then only a 3,500 dollar one time credit.

Not one of the so called stimulus expenditures actually stimulates anything except excitement from liberals who are using this package as the catalyst for expanding government spending.

Oh in case you were wondering after interest is added this 825 billion dollar package will actually cost 1.2 trillion and that is if it is paid for by the end of 2019. If longer than of course the interest will be more. If it creates any jobs based on the inflated numbers that are being given by Obama those jobs will cost 217 thousand dollars per job to create. But the probability of creating jobs actually decreases when one discovers that the package creates 152 separate spending proposals, 32 new government programs with only 34 of the proposals having any possible chance of creating or saving jobs. Providing the money is spent as stated which NEVER happens in any government program.

This is the change and hope that was promised by Barack Obama. Changing the government from huge to much larger. Hoping that the country does not go bankrupt with all of the additional spending. Change that offers nothing in return and hoping that the American people continue to buy into his scam.

BARACK OBAMA - SHOULD CONSERVATIVES SUPPORT HIM

Since the votes were tallied and the final election results were in naming Barack Obama winner of the 2008 election, there have been countless discussions and postings concerning conservative support for Obama because he would be the Nation's President. After all whether one votes for the person who sits in the Oval Office or not he is the President of all Americans.

Over the last few days this conversation has come to the fore front again with Obama telling GOP lawmakers that they cannot follow Rush Limbaugh and expect anything to get done. On the other side of this coin Rush has stated that because of his conservative beliefs and principles that if Obama pushes the socialist agenda that he stated during the campaign he does not want him to succeed because of the path it would take the Nation.

Now that Obama is President of the United States, then the question for conservatives is once again, " do we support Obama because he is the President ?" To this question, as a conservative, I would have to follow my conscience and principled beliefs and say emphatically, "NO !"

There are those, who because he is President, that would consider this attitude to be unpatriotic and nothing that I state here will convince them otherwise. But to my fellow conservatives I offer this explanation as to why we cannot support Obama or even state that we do because he is the President.

Though I do not support Obama, I still and always will respect the office of President of The United States. But for me to use that respect for the office and state that because a certain individual is holding that office, I should then support what he does would be hypocrisy on my part.

Nothing that Obama has stated as his policy, goal o the direction he wishes to take this Nation agrees with my political, moral and ideological beliefs or principles. For me to state that I support the President but not his policies is a similar argument that was used by the left concerning the status of our troops and their mission in Iraq.

Throughout that political discord liberals continually stated that they supported the troops but not their mission. Conservatives countered the cry from the left with, " how can you say you support the troops but not what they are doing ?" The same argument holds for Obama. How can we as conservatives state that we support the President but not what he is doing without falling into the same counter accusation from the left that we used during the troop support argument ?

If I am completely honest with myself and my convictions, then I have to admit that I do not want Obama's agenda to succeed and therefore cannot support him just because he is the President. If he insists on continuing the agenda that he has stated and that he has already begun how can I state that I support him and hold true to my beliefs and principles ?

Of course I would hope for the sake of the country that he understands the short and long term ramifications of what he is doing and what he plans to do and the negative impact it will have on the country. Not to mention that the socialist ideas that he presents take this Nation down a path that was never intended by our Founders.

I believe that the moves that he has made and is planning on making weaken this country and make us even more vulnerable to attack from our enemies. He is taking us back to a pre- 9/11 atmosphere and as such the security of this country could be threatened in a way that it has not been since that fateful day in 2001.

His socialist agenda promises to take this country down a path that may never be reversed. I ask you, how many government programs once started have ever been stopped ? The answer is zero and Obama plans expanding government more than any other President including Franklin Roosevelt.

If we do come under attack, as an American I will rally behind the President as we should and pray that he has the wisdom and sense enough to handle the situation in a manner that protects and preserves our Nation. But to state that I will support him just because he is President is not holding true to who I am and those values and beliefs that have formed my ideas, my morals and my principles.

Do I want him to fail ? Absolutely not ! But I cannot support what he plans which will bring failure and insecurity to this country both economically, morally and in the protection of the country and our people.

Did I agree 100% with President Bush ? No, in fact there were numerous times that I did not support what he was doing. His immigration stand, increasing entitlements, bailouts just to name a few were policies that I could not support. But generally I agreed with the direction Bush wanted to take the country and in the way he stood fast in protecting the Nation after 9/11. As a result I could support him while disagreeing with certain policy issues.

Obama presents and entirely different situation. I find nothing that he says or any part of his very liberal agenda that I can agree with. I do not believe that what he is and will do has any possibility of taking this Nation anywhere but Socialism and weakening our security. How then can I support him as President ?

Our Founders faced a similar dilemma when they gathered to ultimately bring about the birth of this country. They respected the British Monarchy, but not the King who held the throne and especially not his policy toward the Colonies. As a result they created a new form of government that was formed from their beliefs and principles which came from the inability to support King Charles and his agenda for the Colonies. Had they supported the King, they would never have signed the Declaration of Independence.

Am I suggesting that we rebel against the Obama Administration and begin a new Nation ? No, but I am suggesting that we take every opportunity to make it known through the blogosphere, discussion with friends and family and especially in constant contact with everyone and anyone in Washington, that we do not support the President's agenda and emphatically know that it will take us the wrong direction and threaten the security of each of us.

This is our responsibility as a citizen. Our Constitution begins with the words, "We the people." These words were not written by James Madison because they had a certain poetic ring to them. They were included at the very beginning of the document that created our government and the laws that formed our Nation as a testament of who we are and what our responsibilities as Americans are to each other and our country.

Those in government do not dictate to us what we are to do, even the President. It is our responsibility as Americans to tell them what we expect and then hold them accountable to those expectations. As a whole we Americans have forgotten this blessed liberty which was instilled in this country from the very beginning.

Is it radical to stand against our leaders when we disagree with them ? Some today consider it to be. But if we truly believe in our Constitution and understand how our Nation was founded and what the words found within this precious document provide in freedom, then we will also understand that we cannot support that which we believe is wrong and it is our duty to stand against it especially if it is the agenda of a President whose ideas and policy promises to change the very foundation of our country and the principles instilled by our Constitution.

BARACK OBAMA - THE PRESIDENT WITHOUT A CLUE - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Call it political expediency, keeping a campaign promise, appeasing his left wing constituency, whatever you call it issuing the order to close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is not just risky but a sign of a President that either has no clue or just does not care. The risk that Obama is taking with the closing is not a personal political risk because it satisfies his liberal friends therefore keeping those who backed him happy.

No the risk that he is taking is with our National Security and that shows that either he does not have a clue or does not care or both. The detainees that are held in Gitmo are there for a reason. They are dangerous, an enemy to The United States and her people and pose a serious threat to the country and everyone who lives here.

The left and Obama, (one in the same), would have us believe that the reasoning behind the closing of Gitmo is because the detainees are being denied ,"their Constitutional rights," and that the existence of the detention center is damaging to the countries image around the world.

Yet if this damage is as real as they portray then why is it that there is not a country including the home lands of the detainees who want these scum bags once they are removed from Gitmo. Next is the loose interpretation of Constitutional rights. The Constitution provides for the right of a fair and expedient trial and Habeus Corpus, which the detainees are not receiving, but the stickler here is that those rights so espoused for detainees by the left are for United States citizens and NOT enemy combatants who have no rights by out Constitution.

Obama in order to satisfy his liberal friends, keep a campaign promise and look like a hero to the critics of President Bush for his own political expediency has issued an order endangering the country and obviously does not begin to understand who he is dealing with concerning the detainees or again does not care about the real and dangerous ramifications.

A few facts about these enemies might shed some light on what and who he is claiming deserve the same rights as citizens of this country.

Fact one - the detainees are not interested in rights or Constitutional provisions because their goal as detainees is to fulfill their Jihad which is to be a martyr for their Islamic cause and either die killing infidel Americans or die at the hands of the infidel in a prison or by execution. This is evidenced by the actions of the, "master mind," behind 9/11 when he was brought before the tribunal for trial.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Al Qaeda scum held at Gitmo and planner of 9/11 when brought before the tribunal instructed his council that he wished to plead guilty to all charges with the expressed reason being that a guilty finding would lead to execution which would fulfill his Jihad and make him a martyr thus giving him his 72 virgins and a trip to sit by Mohammad. So these murderous enemies are not interested in rights just martyrdom at the hands of infidels.

Fact two - No one wants them. Once the order was issued Senators, Congressman, Governors and citizens began an out cry of, "we don't want them here." So when Obama has his way and Gitmo is closed there is not a location in this country that would not anger an entire State if these scum are transferred anywhere in the States.

The world also does not want them even the countries that they belong to and were captured from. Talk about your basic man without a country, these detainees fit that bill to a tee and not because of political turmoil but because even their own home lands understand that these are undesirables who create more problems than they are worth and since we captured them we can have them.

Fact three - The information that has been acquired through interrogation of the detainees has be invaluable in successfully stopping attacks against The United States and the rest of the world since their capture after 9/11. The true advantage that they have given us in fighting terrorism will never be known because of the necessity of not revealing intelligence information or the quantity of such information but suffice it to say that it has been enough to prevent an untold number of attacks.

Fact four - the recent revelation of the result of releasing a detainee emphasises the danger that they pose. Ali al-Shihri was released to the Saudi government from Gitmo for rehabilitation in 2007. The Saudis then released him from their care and he re-emerged in Yemen once again with Al Qaeda and as the commander of Al Qaeda in the country.

Because these scum bags have been held by, "the great satan," not only do they become heroes to their cause if released, but even if they once were considered peons in Al Qaeda before their capture the fact that they stood fast, in the mind of these scum, any detainee that is returned to the streets becomes a hero and living martyr to the Jihad cause and as such made a leader in the terrorist organization.

But none of this seems to matter to Barack Obama because he wishes to satisfy his liberal friends and seeks good opinion rather than fulfilling his Constitutional Oath to protect this Nation. The perceived rights of the enemy are more important to him then the real rights of our citizens and the security of the country.

There are loop holes in Obama's order that allow him to extend the closing by additional Executive Orders, but his goal of closing the detention center even with the loop holes is a priority with Obama and though giving himself an out if necessary he will pursue this madness until he accomplishes it.

This one act by Obama reveals his true belief that the war that we have been pursuing to defeat this evil enemy is in Obama's mind not a war but a criminal police matter and defeating the enemy was just an eloquent line in his Inaugural Address and not his true intent or goal. It will not be long before Obama returns to the failed idea of issuing warrants, seeking useless indictments and hollow arrests threats thus allowing Al Qaeda to rebuild and attack us again.

OBAMA BIPARTISAN TONE NOTHING MORE THAN A RUSE

Throughout his campaign then candidate Barack Obama told his worshipping minions that if elected he would change the tone in Washington and there would be full bipartisan participation along with a, "let's get along," attitude. This theme continued through his transition as Obama spoke of cooperation, no more accusations and ,"mean spirited," talk from his administration or anyone else in Washington.

Then the moment of truth came. Inauguration Day when all of the high sounding rhetoric would finally be put to the test. In some circles anticipation ran high that just maybe we would see a new tone set in Washington and that the constant bickering and accusations would subside. Then President Bush stepped onto the Inaugural platform to the crowd singing, "na, na, na, na hey, hey goodbye." So much for getting along, but then this did come from followers and not those in Washington.

The left wing press spent a good amount of time giving these disrespectful Obama minions who used an Inaugural to lash out at Bush, a good deal of coverage. But again this is the press and they have always hated Bush so no surprise that they did not get the ,"getting along," memo.

Just after noon the Oath of Office was taken, (sort of), and Obama spoke to his masses. As the speech progressed the, "let's get along," theme quickly faded into oblivion as Obama used the opportunity to make remarks that could only be deciphered as accusations against his predecessor and attacks on his policy.

Day two began with the purging of the White House web site removing Bush and posting Obama. Throughout the site in link after link the official White House web site takes stabs at President Bush in order to diminish the high expectations that the hype created for Obama and use Bush as the scape goat for Obama short comings.

Throughout the hearings process as Obama's appointments are being rubber stamped, references to the last eight years are rampant from Democrat Senators in an accusatory tone. On day three Hillary took to the stage at the State Department taking stabs at Bush policy as she instructs employees and appoints two Middle East Envoys.

Nancy Pelosi has not even tried to make even the slightest attempt at bipartisanship as she has changed the rules in the House in order to prevent GOP participation in the legislative process. Then adding insult to injury when asked about President Bush, Pelosi stated that as she saw him leave on Inauguration Day, she felt as if an, " anvil had been lifted from her shoulders."

Obama was said to be reaching out to the GOP when he kept Robert Gates on as Secretary of Defense. Yet in his first acts as President issuing Executive Orders to close Gitmo and stop pending tribunals for admitted 9/11 participants, Obama used the moments in front of the cameras to lash out at Bush policy rather than just sign the order and state his intentions.

Obama and the Democrats arrogantly believe that they have a mandate from the people to drastically change the country and to introduce full government rule in every aspect of America forcing dependency on government and removing our liberty to choose how we live our lives. They fully intend to do this without allowing GOP opposition while Obama keeps the ruse of bipartisanship in meeting with GOP leaders. If this was nothing more than a ruse he would reign in Pelosi, but he isn't and he won't in order to allow this deception to continue.

A deception designed to make Obama look like the great moderator, holding to the middle ground, reaching out to everyone in a spirit of bipartisanship. Deceiving the people into believing that he has set a new tone in Washington while behind the scenes Democrats can block all opposition, use Bush as the scape goat for their failures and ram through sweeping socialism as they force this agenda on the people.

Police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said the woman was turning right when she veered into the path of the oncoming scooter that had the right of way. YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - BANGKOK, Thailand — It seemed like a good idea at the time: Remove all the feral cats from a famous Australian island to save the native seabirds. But the decision to eradicate the felines from Macquarie island allowed the rabbit population to explode and, in turn, destroy much of its fragile vegetation that birds depend on for cover, researchers said today. Removing the cats from Macquarie "caused environmental devastation" that will cost authorities 24 million Australian dollars ($16.2 million) to remedy, Dana Bergstrom of the Australian Antarctic Division and her colleagues wrote in the British Ecological Society's Journal of Applied Ecology.

"Our study shows that between 2000 and 2007, there has been widespread ecosystem devastation and decades of conservation effort compromised," Bergstrom said in a statement. The unintended consequences of the cat-removal project show the dangers of meddling with an ecosystem — even with the best of intentions — without thinking long and hard, the study said. "The lessons for conservation agencies globally is that interventions should be comprehensive, and include risk assessments to explicitly consider and plan for indirect effects, or face substantial subsequent costs," Bergstrom said.

OBAMA INAUGURAL A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME

I found the picture to the right a very interesting look at what may be a sign of things to come from the administration of Barack Obama.

The building in the back ground is the administrative office of the Smithsonian Institute and the trashed area in the fore ground is what was left by the throngs of people who stood in the Mall to witness the Inauguration.

As one can quickly notice the Mall is trashed. I guess liberals have no concept of what a trash can is and what the primary use of that same trash can is. This picture is not an isolated case of the after math of the thousands who attended the Inauguration. The Mall is literally trashed from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial.

By now you are most likely wondering where I am going with this. It occurred to me as I viewed this picture that when liberals get together trash is what is left behind to clean up. Remember the Convention in Denver and the thousands of American Flags that were saved from the garbage and later used by the McCain campaign as the libs in Denver showed their respect for Old Glory by stuffing it in the garbage or just tossing it on the floor.

Now I am not suggesting that Republicans are not capable of trashing a venue but the above picture after the liberal love fest that took place in DC over the last several days is way beyond ridiculous. Now to the point of this post.

The GOP has left behind, politically speaking garbage that must be cleaned up because of excessive spending and governing practices that were far from conservative. And evidenced by posting on the official White House website the Obama administration, to prepare the country for short comings by the new President that cannot live up to the hype, are already using President Bush as the scape goat for those Obama short comings.

Several non-partisan groups and think tanks have indicated that the Obama Stimulus package which promises immediate relief through infrastructure and new jobs will not actually get any money flowing into the economy until 2010 with the majority of the 825 billion dollar package not having ANY effect until 2011 and beyond, if at all.

The last time this type of government infusion was tried on the grand scale that Obama is planning was during the administration of FDR and it took a World War to finally clean up the fiscal mess that, "The New Deal," created. In fact some of the band aid cures of The New Deal like Social Security are still causing problems. Roosevelt confided to his Secretary of the Treasury during the 1940 campaign that if they had to run on their economic record they would not be re-elected since unemployment was actually higher in 1940 then it was in 1932 when he took office right after the start of the Depression.

So as in the picture above will Obama and the Democrats leave a trashed government behind for someone else to have to clean up? The expansion of government regardless of what party is in charge promises nothing more than a problem in which someone else will have to clean up. The Bush expansion left problems many of which especially the mortgage debacle were not entirely the fault of President Bush.

Obama's plan of spending and expanding our way out of the financial down turn that we are currently experiencing promises to leave in its wake a trashed government like that left by Jimmy Carter and other President's who thought that government was the only solution to the Nations woes. The trashed Mall, the flubbed Oath, a ho hum Inaugural Address and a stimulus that stimulates nothing. All promises of things to come ? We shall see, yes we shall see.

BARACK H. OBAMA 44TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

At 12:04 PM on a cold early afternoon this January 20, 2009, Chief Justice Roberts administered the Oath of Office to Barack H. Obama making him the 44th President of The United States of America.

A very solemn and somber Barack Obama took to the platform as the President Elect following then President Bush who had already taken his seat on the West side of The United States Capitol.

Obama had a look on his face and in his demeanor which expressed , to me, that he may have actually understood the burden in which he was taking as President. He seldom smiled, he remained very serious and seemed very cognisant to the fact that he was not only taking the Oath of the Presidency but that he also was representing a transition in this Nation as the first Black President. He refers to himself as bi - racial since his father was black and his mother white.

The history of the moment, whether one supported Obama or not at least momentarily set aside political differences and fears by we who did not vote for him of where he will lead this country as President. An estimate well over one million people crowded the Mall from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial to watch the Inauguration. The crowd is considered the largest in our history surpassing the 1.2 million who witnessed the inauguration of Lyndon Johnson in 1965.

Obama gave a relatively short Inaugural Address, which is rather unusual for him as evidenced by several speeches he has made in the past. It was also a somewhat uneventful address with little that really stood out as compared to other Presidential Inaugurals which usually offer a phrase or a sentence that stands above the rest of the address.

It was good to hear a Democrat speak of fighting our wars and in defeating the terrorist enemy which has been something that he and other Democrats have avoided mentioning in their rhetoric in the past. Whether that will equate in strength behind the talk still remains to be seen.
I was also extremely amazed that Chief Justice Roberts botched the second line of the Oath of Office. After the new President states his name the Oath states , "will faithfully execute the office of President of The United States." Roberts said, "will execute the Office of President of The United States faithfully," which momentarily confused Obama as to whether to repeat what Roberts said or what the Constitution says. Also that Obama interrupted Roberts after his name was stated before Roberts could say, "do solemnly swear." Obama repeated Roberts words which were not exactly as written in the Constitution, and then completed the Oath without further mishap.

Now the Inauguration is over and the parade and other festivities of the day will continue until the early ours of day two of the Obama White House. Then it will be time to get to the business of the people when all of the hype and all of the rhetoric will be tested and we will then discover whether Barack Obama has what it takes to stand in the shoes of those who preceded him as President of The United States of America.

Ken Taylor

Note: Though the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President, I did have an emotional moment in watching former President Bush board the helicopter and circle Washington for the last time. Thank you President Bush for your service and Mrs. Bush for your steadfast support. May your retirement be a blessed time for you both!

PRESIDENT BUSH COMMUTES SENTANCE OF BORDER AGENTS AND OBAMA'S 170 MILLION BLOW OUT

Two very opposite and also very distinct items have caught my attention today as President Bush spends his last day as President and Barack Obama prepares for his first.

BUSH COMMUTES BORDER AGENTS

The first is something that we conservatives have called for since it first became news and in one of his final acts as President, George W. Bush has commute the sentences of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean two border patrol agents who in defending our border shot a Mexican drug dealer who was trying to smuggle illegal drugs into The United States.

The agents were convicted for the incident in which most accepted that they were only performing their duties as border patrol agents. Soon after the conviction the call for President Bush to pardon or commute their sentence began and now it has become a reality as the President commutes the sentence of the agents.

OBAMA 170 MILLION DOLLAR BASH

The second item that caught my attention today is the continual escalating price tag of the Obama Inauguration. It has now reached 170 million dollars and the price is still climbing with yet another day of liberal love fest activities and of course the Inauguration and the activities that surround it yet to take place.

In 2005 when President Bush was Inaugurated for his second term the price tag was 40 million dollars all from private donations for the event. Yet protesters marched in poor neighborhoods, liberals in Congress were calling for Congressional investigations and the press was plastering the price tag all over the news complaining about how much was being spent. And again I stress that it was all funded privately and NOT from government coffers.

Now the messiah of the left is spending more than 170 million dollars with only about 50 million coming from private funding and NOTHING is being said. The love fest is lasting four days while all other Presidential Inaugurations have lasted only one day. Washington DC has declared a state of emergency because they cannot handle all of the hoopla taking place and with the emergency declared the federal government steps in to help with everything including expenses.

This is not a party for a rock star,or the coronation of a monarch but the supposed smooth transition of power of a free Republic and the Inauguration of a new President. If anything even remotely like this had taken place for a Republican the eruption of scandal, criticism and ridiculous waste of money would have been constant. In these recessive times one would think that the , "caring," Obama and his liberal cronies would try and curtail expense. But then again we are talking about Democrats, the epitome of hypocrites and Obama who thinks he is the come and end all for all mankind. So much for their concern over your pocket book!

BARACK HUSSEIN LINCOLN - THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

He began his campaign for the Presidency by standing on the steps of the Illinois State House to make the official announcement he was running, like Lincoln did. Throughout his campaign he invoked the name of Lincoln as if the ghost of the sixteenth President, in Obama's mind, was hovering over him giving him personal assistance as he spoke. He has compared his life experiences and his rise to the Presidency to that of Lincoln's.

Now Barack Obama is preparing to be inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States and he acts as if he IS Lincoln. He is using Lincoln's bible as he takes the oath of office. The meals throughout the inaugural day are either Lincoln's favorites or foods that he ate as a child. He has traveled to Washington, again, but this time in a rail car that was patterned after the one used by Lincoln in 1861 following that final route used by Lincoln on that same trip.

Obama's obsession of Lincoln is almost as one commentator described it a , "man crush," on Father Abraham. Since the administration of Andrew Johnson, Lincoln's second Vice president and his successor because of the assassination, Lincoln has become the most quoted President by fellow Presidents in or Nations history. One because of the great wisdom found in his thoughts and words. And two, because Lincoln led this country through the most troublesome time our Nation has faced and what he said is applicable to many situations that have faced our Nation since his administration.

But Obama, even before becoming President is going far beyond just quoting Lincoln, he is emulating Lincoln to the extent that it seems as if he thinks he is the reincarnation of the sixteenth President. Now even historians and commentators are following Obama's lead and digging to make comparisons between Obama and Lincoln. When in actuality like Lincoln he was elected from Illinois. And, like Lincoln, his selecting as Secretary of State a former rival who was thought by most to be the shoe in as his parties nominee rather than Obama and that she, as with Lincoln's Secretary of State William Seward was a Senator from New York, otherwise the true comparison with Lincoln does not exist.

Obama's party affiliation, his policies, his back ground, his experience, his character, in other words everything about him is nearly polar opposite of Lincoln. So why this obsession by Barack Obama of Abraham Lincoln ? It takes looking at other moves that Obama has made to understand why Obama is so obsessed with Lincoln.

First, invoking and emanating Lincoln is always safe and popular because Lincoln is considered by most our Nations greatest President and has the respect of almost everyone. This follows with Obama's obvious actions to create an aura around him to say and do everything that is most popular with those who follow him and helps to continue his ,"rock star," status.

Second, Obama comes to Washington saying that he is bringing, "change," yet his appointments to staff and cabinet positions have offered little if any, "change," from another Democrat administration. The majority of Obama's administrative appointments are either former Clinton staffers or appointees who served in similar positions in the nineties or Clinton family like Hillary.

Third, his economic policy follows closely those instituted by Franklin Roosevelt with the , "New Deal." Massive government intervention during economic trouble with little long term or real substance to solve the problem. Only placing temporary band aides to mask it with feel good solutions.

When looking at the three actions, invoking Lincoln, appointing Clinonites and policy like FDR, one then can understand just who Obama is and what he is doing. He is not an avenue of, "change," as he claims. Nor the giver of," hope," as he also tries to claim, but nothing more that a great impersonator.

Like and impersonator he looks and sounds much like the real thing but there is always that something that is not quite right or lacking that makes the listener think or look for the actual real thing. Rich Little, in my opinion, is the best of the best in his ability to impersonate the famous. He can re-create their voice, their mannerisms, their words and in many instances even their costumes, but though great at what he does, he never quite comes up to the real thing.

He is good for a laugh, or can amaze an audience with his ability to copy those whose voices he can impersonate, but his John Wayne isn't as tough, his Johnny Carson isn't as witty, his George Burns isn't as cute and his Cary Grant isn't as charming. He entertains but always leaves you wanting for more.

Like an impersonator Obama is proving to leave the Nation wanting for more. In his press conferences he talks but says nothing, he claims, "hope and change," but his actions bring little if any. He emulates Lincoln, but comes up far short of our sixteenth President. He appoints like Clinton, but can't convince like the used car salesman as Clinton did. Clinton, though a flim flam as a President had the ability to sell what he did even if it was not the greatest idea or policy. Obama cannot. Even his economic ideas come from Franklin Roosevelt but he doesn't posses the ability to make the country feel good about what he is doing like Roosevelt.

Lincoln was known as , "The Great Emancipator." Reagan was known as, "The Great Communicator." Is Obama, "The Great Impersonator ?" Trying to act like and look like a President but always leaving the crowd wanting more.

In the troublesome times we face as a nation we do not need a President who simply tries to act Presidential. We do not need a President who copies others just because he likes them. We need a President who is a true leader, a strong , convicted principled executive. A person with integrity and strength of character who does not just talk a good game but has the ability to actually perform once they take office.

Unfortunately rather than a strong leader, a principled man who stands with true conviction for what he knows is right and what he understands is best for the country, we have , "The Great Impersonator." Acting and talking like others but always leaving the crowd wanting and the Nation lacking.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH AND FAREWELL

In his final address to the Nation, President Bush said farewell from the East Room of the White House. The President expressed his sincere gratitude to the people for allowing him the honor of serving as our President for eight years. Now that his Presidency is drawing to a close, even some of his usual detractors took a better tone and actually gave credit for the protection and the accomplishments of this good, honest and sincere man.

Truly it is we who should thank you Mr. President for what you have done for this country and for keeping us safe when others sought to destroy us. We may have had our disagreements at times but you stood fast to your principles and strong to the cause of liberty. Thank you Mr. President, God bless you and your family as you enjoy a much deserved rest. We will miss you.

Ken Taylor

Following is the full text of President Bush's farewell address.

Fellow citizens: For eight years, it has been my honor to serve as your president. The first decade of this new century has been a period of consequence – a time set apart. Tonight, with a thankful heart, I have asked for a final opportunity to share some thoughts on the journey that we have traveled together and the future of our Nation.

Five days from now, the world will witness the vitality of American democracy. In a tradition dating back to our founding, the presidency will pass to a successor chosen by you, the American people. Standing on the steps of the Capitol will be a man whose story reflects the enduring promise of our land. This is a moment of hope and pride for our whole Nation. And I join all Americans in offering best wishes to President-elect Obama his wife Michelle, and their two beautiful girls.

Tonight I am filled with gratitude – to Vice President Cheney and members of the Administration; to Laura, who brought joy to this house and love to my life; to our wonderful daughters, Barbara and Jenna; to my parents, whose examples have provided strength for a lifetime. And above all, I thank the American people for the trust you have given me. I thank you for ....

...the prayers that have lifted my spirits. And I thank you for the countless acts of courage, generosity, and grace that I have witnessed these past eight years.

This evening, my thoughts return to the first night I addressed you from this house – September 11, 2001. That morning, terrorists took nearly 3,000 lives in the worst attack on America since Pearl Harbor. I remember standing in the rubble of the World Trade Center three days later, surrounded by rescuers who had been working around the clock.

I remember talking to brave souls who charged through smoke-filled corridors at the Pentagon and to husbands and wives whose loved ones became heroes aboard Flight 93. I remember Arlene Howard, who gave me her fallen son’s police shield as a reminder of all that was lost. And I still carry his badge.

As the years passed, most Americans were able to return to life much as it had been before Nine-Eleven. But I never did. Every morning, I received a briefing on the threats to our Nation. And I vowed to do everything in my power to keep us safe.

Over the past seven years, a new Department of Homeland Security has been created. The military, the intelligence community, and the FBI have been transformed. Our Nation is equipped with new tools to monitor the terrorists’ movements, freeze their finances, and break up their plots. And with strong allies at our side, we have taken the fight to the terrorists and those who support them.

Afghanistan has gone from a nation where the Taliban harbored al Qaeda and stoned women in the streets to a young democracy that is fighting terror and encouraging girls to go to school. Iraq has gone from a brutal dictatorship and a sworn enemy of America to an Arab democracy at the heart of the Middle East and a friend of the United States.

There is legitimate debate about many of these decisions. But there can be little debate about the results. America has gone more than seven years without another terrorist attack on our soil. This is a tribute to those who toil night and day and night to keep us safe – law enforcement officers, intelligence analysts, homeland security and diplomatic personnel, and the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

Our Nation is blessed to have citizens who volunteer to defend us in this time of danger. I have cherished meeting these selfless patriots and their families. America owes you a debt of gratitude. And to all our men and women in uniform listening tonight: There has been no higher honor than serving as your Commander in Chief.

The battles waged by our troops are part of a broader struggle between two dramatically different systems. Under one, a small band of fanatics demands total obedience to an oppressive ideology, condemns women to subservience, and marks unbelievers for murder. The other system is based on the conviction that freedom is the universal gift of Almighty God and that liberty and justice light the path to peace.

This is the belief that gave birth to our Nation. And in the long run, advancing this belief is the only practical way to protect our citizens. When people live in freedom, they do not willingly choose leaders who pursue campaigns of terror. When people have hope in the future, they will not cede their lives to violence and extremism.

So around the world, America is promoting human liberty, human rights, and human dignity. We are standing with dissidents and young democracies, providing AIDS medicine to bring dying patients back to life, and sparing mothers and babies from malaria. And this great republic born alone in liberty is leading the world toward a new age when freedom belongs to all nations.
For eight years, we have also strived to expand opportunity and hope here at home. Across our country, students are rising to meet higher standards in public schools. A new Medicare prescription drug benefit is bringing peace of mind to seniors and the disabled. Every taxpayer pays lower income taxes.

The addicted and suffering are finding new hope through faith-based programs. Vulnerable human life is better protected. Funding for our veterans has nearly doubled. America’s air, water, and lands are measurably cleaner. And the Federal bench includes wise new members like Justice Sam Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts.

When challenges to our prosperity emerged, we rose to meet them. Facing the prospect of a financial collapse, we took decisive measures to safeguard our economy. These are very tough times for hardworking families, but the toll would be far worse if we had not acted. All Americans are in this together. And together, with determination and hard work, we will restore our economy to the path of growth. We will show the world once again the resilience of America’s free enterprise system.

Like all who have held this office before me, I have experienced setbacks. There are things I would do differently if given the chance. Yet I have always acted with the best interests of our country in mind. I have followed my conscience and done what I thought was right. You may not agree with some tough decisions I have made. But I hope you can agree that I was willing to make the tough decisions.

The decades ahead will bring more hard choices for our country, and there are some guiding principles that should shape our course.

While our Nation is safer than it was seven years ago, the gravest threat to our people remains another terrorist attack. Our enemies are patient and determined to strike again. America did nothing to seek or deserve this conflict. But we have been given solemn responsibilities, and we must meet them. We must resist complacency. We must keep our resolve. And we must never let down our guard.

At the same time, we must continue to engage the world with confidence and clear purpose. In the face of threats from abroad, it can be tempting to seek comfort by turning inward. But we must reject isolationism and its companion, protectionism. Retreating behind our borders would only invite danger. In the 21st century, security and prosperity at home depend on the expansion of liberty abroad. If America does not lead the cause of freedom, that cause will not be led.

As we address these challenges – and others we cannot foresee tonight – America must maintain our moral clarity. I have often spoken to you about good and evil. This has made some uncomfortable. But good and evil are present in this world, and between the two there can be no compromise. Murdering the innocent to advance an ideology is wrong every time, everywhere.
Freeing people from oppression and despair is eternally right. This Nation must continue to speak out for justice and truth. We must always be willing to act in their defense and to advance the cause of peace.

President Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” As I leave the house he occupied two centuries ago, I share that optimism. America is a young country, full of vitality, constantly growing and renewing itself. And even in the toughest times, we lift our eyes to the broad horizon ahead.

I have confidence in the promise of America because I know the character of our people. This is a Nation that inspires immigrants to risk everything for the dream of freedom. This is a Nation where citizens show calm in times of danger and compassion in the face of suffering. We see examples of America’s character all around us. And Laura and I have invited some of them to join us in the White House this evening.

We see America’s character in Dr. Tony Recasner, a principal who opened a new charter school from the ruins of Hurricane Katrina. We see it in Julio Medina, a former inmate who leads a faith-based program to help prisoners returning to society. We see it in Staff Sergeant Aubrey McDade, who charged into an ambush in Iraq and rescued three of his fellow Marines.

We see America’s character in Bill Krissoff, a surgeon from California. His son Nathan, a Marine, gave his life in Iraq. When I met Dr. Krissoff and his family, he delivered some surprising news: He told me he wanted to join the Navy Medical Corps in honor of his son. This good man was 60 years old – 18 years above the age limit.

But his petition for a waiver was granted, and for the past year he has trained in battlefield medicine. Lieutenant Commander Krissoff could not be here tonight, because he will soon deploy to Iraq, where he will help save America’s wounded warriors and uphold the legacy of his fallen son.

In citizens like these, we see the best of our country – resilient and hopeful, caring and strong. These virtues give me an unshakable faith in America. We have faced danger and trial, and there is more ahead. But with the courage of our people and confidence in our ideals, this great Nation will never tire … never falter … and never fail.

It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve as your President. There have been good days and tough days. But every day I have been inspired by the greatness of our country and uplifted by the goodness of our people. I have been blessed to represent this Nation we love. And I will always be honored to carry a title that means more to me than any other: citizen of the United States of America.

And so, my fellow Americans, for the final time: Good night. May God bless this house and our next President. And may God bless you and our wonderful country. Thank you."

THE LIBERAL LIE CARTOON GALLERY AND YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up - TRIBUTE TO PRESIDENT BUSH ADDITION

The liberal media started throwing shoes at President Bush LONGGGGGG before the guy in Iraq even thought about. Practice makes perfect and the Bush reflexes honed from attacks by US media gave him the dexterity to avoid the shoes in Iraq.

It was well known in 2004 that Al Qaeda was hoping for a John Kerry victory. When President Bush won promising four more years of defeating Al Qaeda and terrorism, it was not a good day in the caves.

Exit polls had Kerry winning by a land slide in 2004. But a funny thing happened. The votes were actually counted rather than the media making up the story and President Bush was elected to four more years.

President Bush has always had the ability to laugh at himself. So in honor of the week long thank you by bloggers to President Bush, this weekly Thursday tradition at The Liberal Lie, gives us all an opportunity to laugh with him. He did provide some very funny gaffs, three of which are posted here.

Political cartoons have been used throughout our history to express point of view by the media and the Bush years were no exception. I hope you enjoy this special Bush addition of THE LIBERAL LIE CARTOON GALLERY AND YoU cAn'T mAkE tHiS sTuFf Up .

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH - A PHOTO MONTAGE

Always one to enjoy a joke and especially when the opportunity rose to laugh at himself, President Bush shares with the press a story showing a recent endorsement in the 2004 election. “To make mistakes is human; to stumble is commonplace; to be able to laugh at yourself is maturity.” William Arthur Ward

The compassion of President Bush has been a source of ridicule for the left and a source of comfort to the country. President Bush is a man who cares deeply for this Nation and her people. Whether soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice, the families of fallen heroes, the survivors and families of 9/11 or everyday people caught up in a natural disaster, President Bush was always there with a hug, a tear and a word of encouragement and comfort. Here he hugs one of the many who were effected by Hurricane Katrina.

A Commander in Chief who respected and cared deeply for every soldier who serves this Nation. He has been a Commander in Chief whose admiration for our troops was only matched by the respect that the troops had for him. He has always stated that his hardest decision as President was to send our brave men and women in uniform in harms way. "Soldiering has one great trap: to be a good solider you must love the army. To be a good commander, you must be willing to order the death of the thing you love." Robert E. Lee

Many in their hatred of President Bush have tried to claim that the world hates our country because of him. Yet time after time when President Bush would step on foreign soil, thousands would come to greet him and hail the President of The United States. In the above picture President Bush holds back his emotion at seeing a tribute to The United States during a trip to India. The author of the photograph stated in reference to President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, "In India both these people are respected. They are honourable people with great intelligence and loyalty, loved by most Indians. Remember there are 1.2 billion people in India."

An avid Baseball fan and former owner of the Texas Ranger, President Bush never missed and opportunity to take in a game and/or throw out the first pitch. Here he throws out the first pitch for the first game of the first season of the Washington Nationals. Incidental whenever he threw out the first pitch it was almost always a strike !

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH - 9/11

As we approach the final moments of the Presidency of George W. Bush, the blogosphere is remembering in thanks the service to our Nation of our 43rd President.

As I look back on the Bush years, I would be amiss if I did not include my fondest memory of President Bush and in my opinion one of his brightest and strongest moments as President.

In the days that followed the cowardly attacks of The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and the loss of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, we were still very much in a state of shock not knowing whether to be sad, angry or just plain numb.

Most of us were actually experiencing all three as the news was showing us scenes of the devistation , heroism, the recovery and glimpses into who was killed and who this, Al Qaeda actually was.

President Bush had been in Washington since the evening of the eleventh and had calmed and assured us that this dispicable attack would not go unanswered by The United States.

On September 14 he went to New York and visited with the families of the innocent victims and during the trip went to the site which had become known as Ground Zero.

His handlers had planned to have him walk behind a rope line shake a few hands but that was not who President Bush was and soon after arriving he did what he felt he must do and walked amidst the rubble to be with the brave men and women who were risking their lives trying to find survivors.

When he picked up the bull horn and spoke to the rescue workers and the Nation delivering the ultimatum which told Al Qaeda that America was seeking venegance with a great and necessary resolve, it was then that we as a Nation pulled together and understood that we not only would prevail but would be victorious in defeating those who had attacked us.

This was our declaration of war, this was our justification to act in our defense and this was our call to rally behind the man who would lead us in the fight to defeat this evil anemy.

President Bush proved in that moment that he was the right man at the right moment in history for the job that was needed to defend and protect this Nation from those who were seeking to destroy us.

For this alone we as a Nation owe him a debt of gratitude we can never repay. But our thanks is not what he was or has ever sought. Only the safety of our people and the protection and preservation of our Nation, our freedoms and liberty have been his goal.

And protect, defend and preserve this Nation is what President Bush has accomplished during his eight years as our leader, Commander in Chief and President. Thank you President Bush.

THANK YOU MR. PRESIDENT - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

Eight years have passed bringing us to the final full week of the administration of George Walker Bush, the forty third President of The United States. A few weeks back I posted about the legacy of President Bush so this will not be about what he will leave behind but a personal story of gratitude for what he has done for our Nation as he has led this country through some of the most historic and troublesome times in our Nations history.

President Bush is a good, honest and principled man who has been the target of the most vicious attacks by the media and the left of any sitting President in our history. He has been vilified and demonized by so many that it is no wonder that he leaves office with low approval ratings because this attempted destruction has been the goal of the left and much of the media since the 2000 election.

As a result the true accomplishments of President Bush will take the calming nature of time to show just how much this President has done and how he has protected this Nation during a time in which a lesser leader would have sat back an allowed events to control him rather than being proactive taking the initiative to act as his conscience dictated.

As a conservative there were times during his Presidency that I was somewhat aggravated with President Bush. I have found disagreement with some of his spending policies especially when he compromised and teamed up with the likes of Ted Kennedy and others who used his nature to ,"reach across the isle," as an opportunity to take advantage of him and create entitlements that have done more harm than good.

While President Bush reached across the isle, those who grasped his hand in a non-partisan gesture, stabbed him in the back after they got what they wanted. I also found frustration as he refused so many times to take the offensive when he was attacked and seldom took his case to the American people which allowed the left and the media to have a field day in condemnation and vilification even when his actions proved right and succeeded.

But the true nature of this good man also prevailed as his love for this country, his belief in the cause of liberty and his dedicated steadfastness in fulfilling his oath of office to, "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, " drove him to action and principled resolve in protecting this Nation in the wake of 9/11.

And defend and protect is exactly what he has done which will be his greatest accomplishment as President as he not only prevented another attack in keeping American safe after 9/11, but took the fight to the enemy with such strength and resolve to this Islamic foe whose cowardice kills innocent people. President Bush recognized this evil and went after it with an assured vengeance that has kept them running and decapitated their ability for more than seven years.

He understood that this enemy would not yield to negotiations or pacification but that the only course was action through strength in defeating this evil enemy. His faith in the tremendous ability and dedication of our brave men and women in uniform and his caring leadership as Commander in Chief has protected this Nation and brought freedom to thousands who had known nothing but oppression in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

It has been comforting to me to know that each night that I lay down on my pillow that because of the principled dedication of President Bush and the sacrifice and equal dedication of the troops that he led as Commander in Chief protected this Nation from harm and that while he and the heroes he led and served were on watch nothing or no one would again attack us.

Yet I also knew that this relentless enemy continued to seek opportunity too attack America and kill Americans. But President Bush stood fast and with our troops on the front line both he and they said, "not on my watch," and This Nation is better for it. And because of that sincere dedication we owe both President Bush and our troops a debt of gratitude that we can never repay.

Their love for this country and respect for their Commander in Chief has defended our freedom and strengthened the cause of liberty both here and abroad. And while our troops deserve praise for their sacrifice and tremendous accomplishments in defense of our Nation, President Bush deserves like praise in his ability to stand firm when others would have fallen. To hold fast when others would have let go and to continue to fight when his detractors and opposition said to surrender.

His belief in freedom and it being a gift to mankind from God drove him to stand when political opposition and polls would have caused a less principled man to yield to save his popularity. He understood that to lead one does not necessarily remain popular and chose rather to sacrifice that popularity in order to make the decisions and actions needed to protect this Nation.

For this dedication he has been condemned because he refused to yield. His love for this country and his belief in its greatness were far more important than good poll numbers or the praise of the media. History will vindicate him for this dedication and this Nation remains free and strong because of that same dedication.

While the politically correct look forward to January 20 when President Bush will peacefully transfer to his successor the Presidency in one of the greatest traditions of our Republic, this conservative and millions like me will miss him when he leaves office. President Bush deserves our thanks for what he has done and his many accomplishments. He deserves our respect for his principled steadfastness in the face of undue opposition.
