THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL - 20 YEARS OF FREEDOM BECAUSE REAGAN STOOD STRONG

The world is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the fall of The Berlin Wall. Revisionists since have tried to place credit for the collapse of Communism with every source other than the one man whose steadfast strength and principled stance against Communism contributed more than any to the collapse of The Soviet Union and the eventual fall of The Berlin Wall.

President Ronald Reagan stood unwaveringly against Soviet aggression and the ideology of Communism and his stance was the key factor in ending the Cold War, the collapse of The Soviet Union and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Eastern Europe is free today because Reagan stood strong. Germany is united today because Reagan stood strong. The Cold War is no longer threatening our Nation today because Reagan stood strong. A celebration marking twenty years since the fall of the Wall is taking place today because Reagan stood strong. Thank you President Reagan for being the leader that we needed and through your strength spreading the light of freedom to a troubled world.

Amen. Let us thank God that he put the right man in the right place at the right time.

Yes, Reagan was the right man in the right place at the right time. However, there were many factors that led to fall of the Berlin wall and iron curtain. One of them was also the inefficiency of the totalitarian regime. That's why I wonder why regimes like North Korea or Burma still persist. Will there be some kind of peaceful change like it was in Germany? I hope that yes but I dare not say when.

Jay: To accomplish that goal requires leadership with vision and determination. Reagan was opposed every step of the way in his bid to end the Cold War by the same people now in power in Washington. I doubt they will be too eager to engage in the same visionary and peacemaking policy.
